| Our Lady
of Lourdes was one of three new parishes established by Bishop
Daly in 1974. Created initially to cater for the spiritual needs
of some 3,000 souls in the newly erected Shantallow Estate,
the parish has grown into one of the biggest parishes in the
diocese.
